MESSIAH OR ANTICHRIST?

What CNN and Fox did not report!

When the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressed the UN General Assembly this week, he called for the appearance of the 12th Imam Mahdi, the Islamic Messiah. Please read his words reprinted here for analysis.

"From the beginning of time, humanity has longed for the day when justice, peace, equality and compassion envelop the world. All of us can contribute to the establishment of such a world. When that day comes, the ultimate promise of all Divine religions will be fulfilled with the emergence of a perfect human being who is heir to all prophets and pious men. He will lead the world to justice and absolute peace."

"O mighty Lord, I pray to you to hasten the emergence of your last repository, the promised one, that perfect and pure human being, the one that will fill this world with justice and peace. 0 Lord, include us among his companions, followers and those who serve his cause."

From Cutting Edge Ministries we get an excellent analysis of Ahmadinejad's words.

This prayer is powerfully prophetic, as the Iranian president is telling the entire world of his belief that the appearance of the Islamic Messiah is very close. President Ahmadinejad has spoken to the world before about his firm belief that the Islamic Mahdi is soon to arise, but never before has he used such explicit language. Notice his sweeping words:

1) "A perfect human being who is heir to all prophets and pious men"

2) "perfect and pure human being"

3) When such a perfect human being arises, he shall be fulfillment of justice and absolute peace.

While the Islamic peoples will call him Imam Mahdi, Jews will call him their Messiah for whom they have long been awaiting, Hindus will call him "Maitreya", the Buddhists will call him the reincarnation of Buddha, deceived Christians will call him Jesus, but discerning, Bible-believing Christians will call him "Antichrist".

One Satanically-possessed man will take upon himself all these titles. He will explain that the same "Christ Consciousness Spirit" which indwelt each of these founders of each of these religions during their respective time periods is indwelling him now; however, he will claim that the "Christ Consciousness Spirit" which is indwelling him is a superior spirit to that which indwelt each of these founders of the different religions.(Emphasis in original).

What does the Bible say about the Antichrist?

"And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his estate he shall honor the God of forces:...." Daniel 11:36-38a KJV.

Ahmadinejad is on record as stating he believes he is to have a personal role in ushering in the age of the Mahdi, which he anticipates will happen in the next two years. In a Nov. 16, 2005, speech in Tehran, he said he sees his main mission in life as to "pave the path for the glorious reappearance of Imam Mahdi, may Allah hasten his reappearance."

According to Shiites, the 12th imam disappeared as a child in the year 941. When he returns, they believe, he will reign on earth for seven years, before bringing about a final judgment and the end of the world.

Jim Bramlett tells us:
Some Islamic scholars believe that when their messianic figure, the Mahdi, comes, he will locate the ark of the covenant. According to a leading Islamic authority, "The coming of the Mahdi is established doctrine for both Sunni and Shi'a Muslims, and indeed for all humanity." One Islamic source states that the discovery of the ark will help the Mahdi win converts from both Christianity and Judaism prior to "eradicating" the remainder who do not convert to Islam, a part their plan of world conquest. This Mahdi may be the antichrist of the Bible, or connected with him. If so, that explains the "eradication" attempt probably during the Great Tribulation prophesied in the Bible to occur at the end of the age.

EPILOGUE

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12 KJV "against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" Ephesians 6:12 NIV
